We are celebrating 30 years in business.
Back in 1996, I opened the doors to Lady Designer Wear with a genuine love for fashion and a passion for helping women feel confident, stylish and comfortable in what they wear. Looking back now, it’s hard to believe just how quickly those 30 years have passed.
Fashion has always been a huge part of my life. I started in the industry in my early twenties, working in the fashion department at the Co-op before progressing into buying and supervisory roles at a young age. Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to experience every side of the industry — from selling and merchandising to buying collections and even modelling for designer brands including Joseph Ribkoff.
Throughout all those years, one thing has always remained the same: my love for helping women find clothes that make them feel their absolute best.
At Lady Designer Wear, we’ve always believed that style has no age limit. Fashion should make you feel elegant, confident and like the very best version of yourself — whether you’re dressing for a special occasion, a holiday, lunch with friends or simply everyday life.
Over the last three decades, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming generations of customers through our doors. Some of you have shopped with us from the very beginning, while others have discovered us more recently online. However long you’ve been with us, I truly can’t thank you enough for your support, loyalty and kindness over the years.
Many of our customers have become friends, and that’s something I never take for granted.
We’ve seen trends come and go, fashion evolve, and shopping habits completely change — but what’s always mattered most to me is offering personal service, honest advice and beautiful clothing from brands we genuinely believe in. Collections from designers such as Joseph Ribkoff and Frank Lyman continue to be favourites for exactly that reason: timeless style, elegance and quality that helps women feel amazing at any age.
As we celebrate this milestone, I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to every single customer who has supported Lady Designer Wear since 1996. Whether you’ve visited our boutique in Wigan, ordered online, recommended us to a friend or simply followed along on our journey — thank you for being part of our story.
